Following the success of the 2025 festival, Townsville welcomes players from Australia, New Zealand and beyond for four CSW24 Australian-rated events, with the Townsville Open carrying a WESPA Bronze rating.

Registration: 9:00 am
Play begins: 9:30 am
Format: Seven games each day; ratings reset after day one
Draw: Lagged Australian draw — to be confirmed
Clock: 25 minutes per player; Australian rules
Capacity: Limited to 40 players
Rating: WESPA Bronze-rated
Entry fee: $100
First prize: $300
Catering: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included

Play begins: 12:00 noon
Format: A separate seven-game round robin tournament each day
Clock: 25 minutes per player; Australian rules
Capacity: Limited to 50 players
Entry fee: $25 each day
Catering: Afternoon tea included

The Townsville Open is $100, and each Magnetic Island tournament is $25. Bank details will not appear publicly; payment instructions will be sent directly to registered players. Overseas players unable to use bank transfer may arrange cash payment on arrival.
